We're heading to California to co-host the Longevity Science Conference at Vitalist Bay alongside Vitalist. Our Conference will feature short, sharp talks, hands-on workshops, and open discussions in order to bridge the gap between labs, biotechs, and clinics in a collaborative setting and is part of Week 2 of the 8-week Vitalist Bay Longevity Zone, where each week explores a new perspective on aging science.
Agenda: diving into the frontiers of longevity R&D including:
Biomarkers of aging
Partial reprogramming & cellular rejuvenation
Damage repair & gerotherapeutics
Clinical translation & regulatory hurdles

Biomarkers of Aging Challenge:
Update Webinar with Foresight Institute
Dr. Chiara Herzog provides a high-level background on why biomarkers of aging are necessary for the development of longevity interventions, when (under which circumstances) to use them, and which challenges currently exist in the field. She then describes how the Consortium is addressing those challenges. Dr. Albert Ying walks through our open-source Biolearn tooling, as well as recent advances made, which is used to support the analyses and validation of biomarkers of aging. Seth Paulson wraps up the presentation with our 2024 Biomarkers of Aging Challenge Series and demonstrates how to participate in the Challenge. The presentation is then followed by an engaging Q&A led by Allison from Foresight.
Recorded on March 29, 2024
“How Innovation will Establish Next Generation Biomarkers of Aging” with XPRIZE Healthspan, Institute of Competition Sciences and Sage Bionetworks
The Biomarkers of Aging Challenge Series unites biomarker developers, data scientists, academic researchers, translational scientists, biotech firms, pharmaceutical companies, and regulatory bodies, including the FDA and is designed to drive innovation and collaboration in the field of validating aging biomarkers for the development of longevity interventions.
Agenda and Talking Points:
Challenge Scope and Vision
Barriers to the Discovery, Development, and Validation of Aging Biomarkers
The Phases of the Challenge, including Participation Details and Winning Criteria
Future Perspectives

Webinar: New advances in omics biomarkers of aging with Dr. Mahdi Moqri and Dr. Jesse Poganik
ML models based on omics data can predict biological age but often do not offer biologically meaningful or clinically actionable insights. Many research groups have been working to address this challenge during the past few years. Our Executive Directors, Drs. Mahdi Moqri and Jesse Poganik presented a brief review of recent advances in this area developed by the members of the Biomarkers of Aging Consortium, including the PRC2 Clock, the Causal Clock, the OMICmAge Clock, biological applications of the clocks, and computational tools including Biolearn and Clockbase. Webinar: Characterization and Validation of Biomarkers of Aging with Drs Jesse Poganik & Mahdi Moqri
In this National University Singapore Medicine webinar, hosted by Prof. Brian Kennedy, Dr. Jesse Poganik & Dr. Mahdi Moqri discussed the Consortium's mission and efforts in developing viable longevity interventions, as well as identifying and validating pivotal biomarkers of ageing, and their recent publications. Dr Poganik's research aims to understand the fundamental aspects of aging such as temporal dynamics of biological age, and the intercellular and tissue dynamics of ageing. Dr Moqri's research delves into epigenetic aging and its clinical translation. The webinar starts at minute 7:15.
